Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass
The current standard by which other weight-loss operations are measured. In this procedure, a small stomach pouch is created that bypasses a portion of the small intestine. This restricts the amount of food you can eat and the calories your body can absorb.

Laparoscopic Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy
In this procedure, the surgeon removes a large portion of your stomach. The smaller stomach limits the amount of food you can eat by making you feel full after eating small meals.

A CT Calcium Score is a simple and painless test which is used to identify and evaluate early stage heart disease.  The patient's chest area (heart) is scanned to identify build-up of calcium or plaque on the walls of the arteries of the heart (coronary arteries). Calcium in the arteries is a sign of coronary artery disease (CAD). The test takes less than 10 minutes.

Patients may self-refer without a physician order as long as they meet the following criteria:

• Males between the ages of 40-65
• Females between the ages of 45-70
• All patients must have at least one of the following risk factors:
  • Diabetes
  • Current Smoker
  • Obesity
  • Family history of heart disease
  • Cholesterol level greater than 160/LDL
  • Blood pressure greater than 140/90

Note: Persons who are interested in having this exam, but do not meet this criteria must present an order from a physician.
